Riding Camps

No Experience Necessary...
This camp is for beginner level riders who have no, or limited riding experience. A great opportunity for those interested in learning about horses and acquiring basic riding skills.

Example of what Campers will learn:
• How to groom and tack a horse
• How to lead and a handle a horse
• The parts of a horse, bridle and saddle
• How to mount and dismount properly
• Riding at the walk, posting trot and halt
• Horse coat colors, expressions, and height measurements
• Etc..

Weekly fee per camper: $300
July 25-29

Hidden Creek Stables will hold three week long day camps this summer. All camps run from 9am-2pm, Monday -Friday. Campers must pack a bag lunch, be prepared to ride for at least 2 hours per day, gain horsemanship skills, and have tons of fun!

This camp is for students enrolled in our lesson program. Intermediate students are comfortably riding walk/trot/canter on their own and jumping crossrails and up to 2ft. This camp will be great to help riders gain better skills in flatwork, coursework, and show preparation.

Example of what Campers will learn:
• Nutrition, deworming, and immunization for horses
• Equine vital signs and wound care
• Measuring horse strides and walking a course
• Bathing, pulling manes, and braiding
• Polo wrapping and blanketing
• Cantering a course
• Riding without stirrups
• Cavaletti, serpentine, figure eight, and lead changes
• Etc..

Weekly fee per camper: $350
June 20-24

This camp is for students enrolled in our lesson program. Advanced students are currently jumping 2ft or higher and competing at shows. The advanced group will have the opportunity to ride multiple horses and travel to an off site location.

Example of what Campers will learn:
• Body Condition Scoring and equine fitness
• Bandaging and injury care
• How to design and then ride their courses
• Riding in the field and over natural jumps
• Advanced flatwork
• Show grooming and preparation
• How to longe a horse
• Etc..

Weekly fee per camper: $400
